James Clyde Chesnut, age 85, passed away on December 30, 2011 in Cedar Hills, Utah.

Born December 31, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Clyde and Mary Pearl Lerwill Chesnut. He married Jeanelle Walker on August 3, 1951 in Pleasant Grove and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

James was dedicated to his family and was an active member of the LDS Church. He served in WWII as an M.P. He was an avid gardener, loved the outdoors and traveling. He worked for UP&L for forty years.

He is survived by his children: Craig (Susan Jane), American Fork; Bruce W. (Tamara), Pleasant Grove; and Linda (Joe M.) Murdoch, American Fork; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in the Cedar Hills West Stake Center, 4580 West Cedar Hills Drive. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, and Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services.
Burial will be in the American Fork Cemetery.
