Catalina "Katie" López, age 88, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Monday, December 3, 2001 in Albuquerque, NM.
Katie was preceded in death by her beloved son, José Alberto in April of 2000.
Katie was born in Socorro, NM on June 11, 1913 to the late Rafael and Manuelita Baca.
Katie was a parishioner at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro, NM and was the most loving and caring mother that her children could ask for. One of her biggest joys was her children and her very special and precious joy was her son, Albert.
Katie participated in the Foster Grandparents program. Katie loved the children and they loved her in return.
Katie is survived by husband, Nep López, her five children, Terry Rivas and her husband, Andy, Paul López and his wife, Chelo, Nellie Brown and her husband, Perlie, Cathy Peralta and her husband, Vincent and Nep Edward López, sister, Rachel Gordon, grandchildren, Audrey, Kenneth, Debra, Randy, Rick, Peter, Ramon, Esmaralda, Aaron, Sean and Carlie and eight great-grandchildren.
Katie will be dearly missed by her loving family and those who knew and loved her.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 6, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church, Socorrro, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 7, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church with Father Edward Domme as Celebrant. Interment will be in the San Miguel Cemetery, Socorro, NM. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rick Rivas, Peter Rivas, Sean Chávez, Kenneth Peralta and Randy Peralta.
