Murder Victim. She disappeared from her Tacoma, Washington home sometime during the night of August 31, 1961. The prime suspect in her disappearance was the neighborhood's 14 year old paper boy: Ted Bundy. Ann Marie is believed by many investigators to be Bundy's first victim, although he denied having anything to do with her disappearance. The street where she and Bundy lived was being repaved at the time of her disappearance; many think Bundy buried her in one of the construction pits. Her parents delayed having any kind of funeral service, hoping she would come home. In 1999, however, they finally had a memorial service at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tacoma, and planted an evergreen tree in her memory.
