David M Reser, known to everybody as “Uncle Dave,” died at his home near Crane this morning at 4 o’clock, from the infirmities of old age. Mr Reser at the time of his death was 76 years old, born in Clark county, Ohio, in 1823. He came to Indiana in 1836 and was a resident of Tippecanoe county ever after-ward. His wife died nine years ago. The children are all grown and they are as follows: F C Reser and Benjamin Reser, of Howard County; Mrs John A Fidler, of this city, and Mrs George Ilgenfritz and Miss Alice Reser, of Crane. Mr Reser was of a cheerful disposition, a kind and indulgent husband and father, a good neighbor and loyal friend. And many hearts in Tippecanoe county will be saddened to learn of his death. Funeral services will be held at Wildcat church, Saturday morning at 10 o’clock, Rev D A Patrick of Logansport, officiating. (The Lafayette Daily Courier, Thursday, June 21, 1900)
