LEXINGTON- Mary "Helen" Brooks Areheart, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011.
She was born on April 19, 1928 to the late Aubrey A. Brooks and Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Mason. She was a 1945 graduate of Greenbriar High School. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lexington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert L Areheart; two sons, Robert L. Areheart, Jr. and Aubrey Brooks Areheart; and her sister, Caroline Brooks Andrews. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Bell; grandchildren, Angela Bell Docherty (Howard), Michael Bell, and Jason Areheart; and three great-grandchildren, Callie, Cameron, and Katie. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 226 Corley Mill Road, Lexington SC 29072.
