Robert "Red" Manley was the last person to see Elizabeth Short aka The Black Dahlia, alive. He dropped her of at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. He was a suspect in her murder. He was hounded for the rest of his life. His wife had him committed to Patton State Hospital in 1954.
