Grandma was one of the best cooks in Arkansas and my brothers and I still miss her homemade chocolate pie. When we came to visit (we lived in a neighboring state) she would hide a little something in the house for us to find such as a coloring book or a set of jacks. She kept candy in several dishes throughout the house so you can imagine our joy in being able to sneak a piece here and there! She showered us with love and taught us many wonderful things such as how a geode is formed and the names of flowers and explained the "Trail of Tears". She made lovely homemade Barbie clothes for me...on her old "foot peddle" sewing machine! I adored her and still do and wish I had had more time with her. She died when I was a young teen and although I never got to be an adult with her, I cherish the memories she lovingly created for me and my brothers in our youth. Grandma I am looking forward to the day when I can hug your neck again!
