From Chericoke, a Braxton place for more than two hundred years. A model Virginia Gentleman, loved and honored. The son of Corbin Braxton was a physician and surgeon in the Confederate Army. His grandfather, Carter Braxton was a Signer of the Declaration of 1776. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1854. Jack Braxton married Mary Caperton and they raised a family in Staunton.
