MONTGOMERY (Special) — Funeral services for James Rufus Shelton, 56, of Montgomery, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Union Grove Baptist Church near Montgomery.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Edmond's Funeral Home of Winnsboro.

Mr. Shelton died Tuesday in St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria after a brief illness. He was a sawmill employe.

Survivors include seven sons, James and Carol Shelton, both of Montgomery, George and Harold Shelton, both of Venice, Gerald Shelton of Empire, Richard Shelton of Elm City, N.C., and Gordon Shelton of Vidor, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Lorene Morrow, Buras, and Mrs. Dorothy Hensley, Wilcox, Ariz.; five sisters, Mrs. Pearl Chelette, Colfax, Mrs. Alvie Jowers, and Mrs. Clo Davis, both of Montgomery, Mrs. C. B. Davis, Alexandria, and Mrs. Jewell Treadway, Buras.
