Paul M. Alkire
ST. MARYS - Paul M. Alkire, 85, of Stadium Drive, St. Marys died May 1, 2003, at Heartland of Marietta.
He was born March 28, 1918, at Bens Run, W.Va., the son of the late Ross A. Alkire and Delphia Alkire. He was a pipefitter with Dravo Corporation for 16 years and retired as a State Farm Insurance agent in 1983. He was a charter member of the St. Marys BPOE, a lifelong member of the St. Marys Golf Club, and coached Legion baseball for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine; one son, Max and his wife, Cynthia, of St. Marys; two grandsons, Stephen P. Alkire and his wife, Renee, of Williamstown, Thomas P. Alkire and his wife, Martha, of Tracey, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Zachary P. and Mikayla R. Alkire of Williamstown; two sisters-in-law, Lillian DeJohn of Harrison, Mich., and Violet Davis of Belmont.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose M. Alkire; one brother, Hershel Alkire; a stepson, Larry May; and a stepdaughter, Karen Glick.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, with Rev. Hayward Perkey officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery, St. Marys. Visiting hours will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
