LEE T. CRAWFORD

CORINTH - Lee T. Crawford, 91, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. A native of Tishomingo County, he was born Feb. 12, 1912, to the late William A. and Mary Elizabeth Patterson Crawford. In his early years he worked as a school teacher for WPA. He was a retired truck driver for Sinclair Oil Company. He later worked at Magnolia Hosiery Mill and at various odd jobs, mostly driving a truck. He retired when he became unable to drive. He was a charter member and one of the founders of Oakland Baptist Church, which started up in the Crawford home. He served as deacon, music director, teacher and in all other capacities. He was a kind and generous man, always willing to help others, whose priority was serving the Lord.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakland Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Bostick and the Rev. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery. McPeters Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Hattie Mae Crawford of Corinth; a sister, Carolyn Williams of Iuka; a daughter-in-law, Lola Hardwick Crawford of Corinth; two grandchildren, Cindy Carmichiel, and Ronnie Crawford and wife, Jan, all of Corinth; three great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Crawford, and Emily and Ethan Carmichiel.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Crawford.

Pallbearers will be Brackstone Hester, Billy Gurley, Loren Dale Gurley, Marion Crawford, Joe Shadburn, Doyle Frederick, Bryan Winters and Mike Breedlove.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men's Sunday school class at Oakland Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Oakland Baptist Church Building Fund, 2024 Hwy. 72 E., Corinth MS 38834.
