Douglas A Whinnery of 411 Summer St., Eau Claire, died Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born on June 27, 1906 in Dunn County to Arthur and Ethel Whinnery, grew up on a farm near Menomonie and attended Menomonie High School and two years of Agricultural School at Stout.

He was united in marriage to Leona Beals on March 5, 1935.
Doug was a salesman for S&M Auto Supply until 1960 when he owned and operated DW Auto Parts in Bruce. He retired in 1972 and sold out to Lowater in Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include his wife, Leona, of Eau Claire; daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Jim Hunt; a grandson, Paul Hunt; granddaughter, Susan (Andrew)Williams; and a great grandson, Neil Hunt, all of San Diego, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Roland Hansen officiating. Interment of the remains will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army.
