Hugh W. Beavers, age 97, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.


He was born on June 29, 1920, in Dallas, GA, to the late George Wallace & Servanner Elizabeth Wood Beavers, and was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Louise Leggett Beavers, one brother, and three sisters.

Mr. Beavers was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II under General Patton where he fought in Normandy, Omaha Beach, Sicily, North Africa and Germany. Hugh was awarded the Legion of Honor from France on June 4, 2015 and also awarded a Purple Heart. He retired in January 1980 from International Harvester after 30 years of service and was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church where he served as Deacon since 1956 and Treasurer for 41 years.

Survivors include sons, Richard and Fran Beavers of Cartersville, Charles and Paula Beavers of Dallas, Lewis and Fonda Beavers of Dallas, and Phillip and Phyllis Beavers of Dallas; extended family generations.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 3 PM, from Pine Ridge Baptist Church,. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 406 Mayfield Road, Dallas, GA 30157
