McLACHLAN - Following a short illness, Edgar B. McLachlan, 74, one of the oldest merchant tailors in the city, died at his home, 135 West street yesterday, February 18, 1933. He worked at his shop at 1007 West street on Tuesday and was taken ill Wednesday, He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma W. McLachlan, one son, Harry H. McLachlan, two grand-children, and one sister, Mrs. J. U. Layton, of Penn's Grove. He was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Colin McLachlan, whose family has lived in this city since Revolutionary days. The couple celebrated their fifty-first wedding anniversary on January 2. Mr. McLachlan was a member of Temple Lodge, No. 11, A. F. and M., Delta Chapter, No. 6, R. A. M., St. John's Commandery, No. 1, K. T., Delaware Consistory, LuLu Temple, Mystic Shrine, and Diamond Council, No. 6, Jr. O. U. A. M. The funeral will take place from the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and the Rev. George H. Dole, pastor of the Church of New Jerusalem, will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Wilmington and Brandwine cemetery.
