Model, Beauty Queen. Miss Venezuela of 2000, she had a noted career as a fashion model. Born Eva Monica Anna Ekvall Johnson to a well-off family she lived in both the United States and Venezuela and was fluent in English and Spanish from childhood. Eva attended the Academia Washington of Caracas, was crowned Miss Venezuela of 2000, and the next year was third runner-up in the Miss Universe Pageant. She went on to earn a degree in communications from the Universidad Santa Maria, was seen in the television series "Las Rottenmayer", and frequently graced the pages of such fashion magazines as "Sambril" and "Ocean Drive". Married in 2007, Eva was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in February of 2010 while pregnant with her only child. Despite aggressive treatment she died of a recurrance of her disease.
