Mrs. Lennie Ruth Howard, age 79, died Monday morning at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The Tattnall County native graduated from Glennville High School in 1949, and moved to Statesboro. Soon after moving to Statesboro, Lennie met Tom Howard and the two married. She was a homemaker during the early years of her marriage and stayed at home to care for her children. Later, she began her career with Georgia Southern College, working in the Film Library until her retirement and also served as a Mary Kay consultant for many years. Mrs. Howard was a member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church where she was a member of the Choir and the Ladies Fellowship Bible Study. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi. She was an avid card player and enjoyed her Monday card group.

Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mamie Rose Strickland Kicklighter and a brother, J.A. Kicklighter.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Janet Howard and Mike and Natalie Howard; four grandchildren, Jinci and Bryan Evans, Paul Howard and Whitney and Andrew Richland and Hunter and Liz Howard; two great grandchildren, Kasen and Aubree Evans; two sisters, Earline Glisson and Lois Curry and two brothers, Franklin Kicklighter of North Carolina and Talmadge Kicklighter.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00pm at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Hunter Howard officiating, assisted by Elder Randy Waters. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Andy Richland, Bryan Evans, Paul Howard, Al Groover, Ronny Newton and Jeffrey Moore.
