Julia Nadine (Horney) Beller was born on March 5th, 1927 in Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Pearl (McLain) Horney. Nadine, as she normally went by, graduated Adel High School. She was married to Roy Beller on May 13, 1945, to this union five children were born – Lee, Ronnie, Dennis, Dixie and Kelly. Nadine and Roy lived on a farm at Marshalltown the first year of their marriage then moved to Adel where Roy worked for Wrights Tree Service for two years. Nadine and Roy then moved to Minburn, Iowa where Roy began working at Hunter Oil Company. After seven years in Minburn, Roy earned the opportunity to manage a new Hunter Oil station, and opened this new station in 1956 in Knoxville, where Nadine and Roy enjoyed the rest of their lives together. Nadine worked at the gas station the last 15 years of business before Roy retired and the station was closed. Also, throughout Nadine's life she had worked in Mode-O-Day Dress Shop for three years, a Certified Nurse's Aid at Westridge Nursing Home for four years, and Knoxville Area Community Hospital for nineteen years before retiring in 1995.

For a pastime, Nadine loved making quilts, embroidery and crocheting afghans for all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren which she devoted her life to. Nadine and family were members of the First Christian Church of Knoxville where Nadine had done volunteer work as well.

Nadine passed away on December 6, 2011 at Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville at the age of 84 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46-years; a daughter, Dixie in 1976; a grandson in infancy in 1965; a granddaughter, Kathy in 1987; both of her parents and four brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Lee and Dennis (Marsha) Beller of Knoxville, Ronnie Beller of Pella, and Kelly (Darla) Beller of Leighton; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Jenoise (Paul) Buckalew of Grimes; brother, Oliver Horney of West Des Moines; as well as a number friends and relatives.

A funeral service will be held at Williams Funeral Home on Monday, December 12 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in Graceland Cemetery.
