HACKBART, Walter S. -Peacefully, on Friday, May 5, 2006, at Pinehaven Nursing and Retirement Home in Waterloo, Walter Stephen Hackbart, formerly of Crosshill, Brussels, Wellesley and the K-W area. He was born in Wellesley township 88 years ago. Son of the late Edwin Hackbart and the late Hilda Duench. Walter farmed in the Crosshill area and worked at the University of Waterloo, then owned and operated a Department Store in Brussels. He retired in 1978.Beloved husband of the late Erma L. Neeb, who predeceased him December 24, 1988. Dear father of Keith and his wife Sandra Hackbart of Kitchener and Doreen and her husband Raymond LeDrew of Brampton. Loving brother of Frederick and Wilhelmina Hackbart of Kitchener, Arthur Hackbart of Kitchener, Clayton and Margaret Hackbart of Kitchener, Wilfred and Bernice Hackbart of Kitchener, Edward and Janet Hackbart of RR 3, Wellesley, Florence Schmidt of Elmira, Helen and Ralph Berg of Wellesley, Mildred Lantz of New Hamburg, Gladys Hackbart of Kitchener and Ruby and Edward Thompson of Ariss. Cherished Grandpa of Terri-Lyn and her husband Chris Gerber, Victoria and her husband Andrew McMann and Leanne LeDrew. Predeceased by a sister, Vera Fischer and by brothers and sisters-in-law, Rose Hackbart and Vera Hackbart, Elmer Fischer and Harold Lantz. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 1172 Henry St., Wellesley where family and friends will be received today (Monday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Erbsville, on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 11 a.m. Pastor Olaf J. Poulsen will officiate. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Breslau. Memorials to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
