Harry Jr. was the son of Marie & Harry Sr. Brother of Catherine, Anna, Edward, William, Marie, Betty, Bobby, & Raymond. His parents and siblings affectionately referred to him as "Brother". In his youth he worked in a soap factory, later working for the highway department of Camden County. He was drafted into the war in Feb. 1942, first stationed in Fort Dix, later California. He later saw action in Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. He died when he stepped on a land mine during WWII on the South Pacific Island of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. He was a PFC 132 Infantry 45th Division (his headstone is incorrectly marked 34th) in the US Army. He gave his life for his country. He was awarded a purple heart for his sacrifice. His mother refused to believe that his body was returned in the coffin.
