While her husband was overseas during World War II, she never wavered in her faith that he would return safely. During that time, she worked in the personnel office at the DuPont plant in Old Hickory, Tennessee. After moving to Atlanta in 1947, Mrs. Bell was a devoted homemaker and mother. In addition to cherishing her family, she loved all animals, especially dogs. For many years Mrs. Bell was very active at Brookhaven Baptist Church and for the past 33 years she was an active member of Wieuca Road Baptist Church and the Agape/Berean Sunday School Class until her health declined. Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her parents Porter and Lucile Hamblen and her beloved husband of 65 years, David J. Bell. Survivors include her cherished only child, Jan Bell. Additional survivors are her nephew, William C. (Bill) Bell, Jr. and his wife, Judy and their son and daughter-in-law Jarratt and Deanna Bell as well as several cousins. Also surviving are Mrs. Bell's long-term and dedicated caregivers Shirley Paige and Helen Bennett whom she loved dearly.
