He was preceded in death by his wife Edith M. Driver, his parents Mr. and Mrs. K.P. Driver and sister, Anna Grace Dyer.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Driver of Cabot, her children; Roger Cook (Lisa) of North Carolina; Rusty Cook (Donna) of Oklahoma; and Robbie Heller (Marty) of Texas; his son, Joe D. Driver (Reba) of North Little Rock; grandsons, Jimmy Driver of North Little Rock, Adam Driver of New York and granddaughter, April Wilson (Steve) of Indiana, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew and many long time friends.
He was a Navy Veteran and served on submarines in World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the Navy and worked at Amphibious Base with the Seals then retired to Arkansas in 1993. He was an active member of Sylvan Hills Baptist Church. He was an accomplished Bass Guitar player with a traveling band the Gospel Tones and avid car enthusiast and never met a stranger.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2011at Sylvan Hills Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, AR 72116 (501-791-7400).
