Born in Zuckmantel, in the German part of Czechoslovakia.

Hildegard went to the Lord on March 22, 2007, after 16 months of suffering. She was born as H. Geisler in the German part of Czechoslovakia. She met her husband in Austria after the Second World War. Hildegard was working in the kitchen for the Textile Factory in Austria. That's where she met Alfred Brueckner, also from her homeland Sudetenland, now a worker in that Textile Mill in Austria. After getting married in 1949, a try was made to get into another Land. The USA was the only Land to accept people without a citizenship. As people arrived in New York, they had been told that the workplaces at the Seabrook Farm in New Jersey had been taken from the last ship. So the new arrival could go into a camp or to Texas. The Catholic Church brought the people to Austin and from there Mr. and Mrs. Carruth brought them to New Braunfels to work at the Textile Mill. Hildegard worked at several households, then in the Textile Mill, Hosiery Mill, Telephone Co. and OPA Haus before retiring. Hildegard had one son, Reinhard Fred, in 1955, who is now working at NASA.

Visitations will begin at 11 a.m., Sunday at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home. A rosary will begin 7 p.m. on Sunday. The Mass will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m.
