Charles Martin Partridge was born October 5, 1874 in Linn County, Kansas. He was the son of Robert Foster Partridge and Mary Alice Martin Partridge. Charles M. Partridge married Nellie Katherine Oliver January 11, 1902. They resided in Linn County until about 1930 when they moved to Fort Scott, Bourbon County, Kansas. Charles was a Railroad Depot Manager.

Charles and Nellie had eleven children: Winfred Robert (1903-1946); Harold R. (1905-1930); George Dewey (1907-1959); Edna Marie (1908-1974); Orville Glen (1911-1964); Anna Juanita (1913-1914); Lucy Lee (1916-1984); Charles Morrison (1918-1988); Mary Ellen (1920-1962); Howard W. (1921-2001); Betty Jean (1924-1940).
