Phillip Wade Ramsey, 88, of Winchester, widower of the late Lula Vivan Strange Ramsey, passed away on Fri., Nov., 11, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. Mr. Ramsey was born in Clark County on May 28, 1923 to the late Leroy and Bertha Fitzpatrick Ramsey. He was a farmer, self-employed carpenter, a factory worker for Legget and Platt, a WWII Army Veteran, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Cynthiana.

Survivors include five brothers, Kenneth Ramsey, Paul Ramsey, and Ward Ramsey of Winchester, J.G. Ramsey of Mercer County, and Ralph Ramsey of Madison County; 2 sisters, Carolyn Wisman of Winchester and Jean Kreitzer of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Layton Ramsey and Linville Ramsey.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, November 14, 2011 at Scobee Funeral Home by Paster Jonathan Taylor. Burial will be in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Scobee. Memorial contributions are to the charity of one's choice.
