Maggie was an AKC registered black and tan bloodhound who answered 348 service calls and aided 18 jurisdictions during her tenure, helping to find missing people and track down criminals. Her partner and handler Lt. Patrick Sheridan worked with Maggie since she was a puppy. He called her a loyal partner and a valuable part his family.
A memorial service was planned for K-9 Maggie to honor her service in Louisa County and across Central Virginia.
Maggie's memorial service was held January 19, 2012, at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa, VA. Officers from Albemarle, Hanover and Richmond attended the memorial service to pay their final respects to the fallen K-9. The Louisa County Sheriff Department hopes Maggie's legacy will not be forgotten.
At this time K9 Unit 107A is out of service.
You fought a good fight, K9 Maggie.
You are gone, but not forgotten.
