CORCORAN, Kings Co.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Monday in the Bledsoe Chapel for Mrs. Mabel Irene Butler, 83, a former Corcoran resident, who died yesterday in a Fresno rest home of an illness of several months.
The Rev. Chase Stafford of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Fresno, will conduct the funeral, and burial will be in the Grangeville Cemetery at Armona.
Mr. Butler, a native of Webster (City), Iowa, moved to California in 1941 and to Corcoran in 1947. In 1961, she and her husband, Ralph, moved to Fresno to live with a daughter, Mrs. Marcene Bane. She was a member of the First Methodist church here, and a 50 year member and past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Mapleton, Iowa.
Her husband, who died in Fresno last year, was recognized while living in Corcoran with an award by the American Legion for his faithfulness in displaying the American flag on appropriate holidays.
Surviving Mrs. Butler other than the daughter are two grandchildren, Marcie and Charles, both of Fresno.
