Lela E. Norris was the fifth child born to Leander Grady Norris and Beulah Edith Wolford. She was born June 7, 1931 in Hunt Co., TX. She married Lloyd D. Beasley September 11, 1948, Lovington, NM. They lived in Denver City, TX for a number of years where Lloyd worked for the Shell Oil Co. They later moved to San Benito, TX where they were house-parents at the Sunny Glenn Children Home. After leaving Sunny Glenn, they were house-parents at Cherokee childrens' home and at Buda, TX, near Austin. When they retired they moved to Jasper, TX near their daughter and son-in-law, Edie and Michael Hendrickson. Lela and Lloyd raised four children, two boys and two girls and were married just 22 days short of 56 years when she died. At the time of her death, she was survived by her husband, Lloyd D. Beasley of the home; daughters, Edie Hendrickson and husband Michael, Dottie Vinzant and husband James; sons, Louis Beasley and wife Lisa, Sam Beasley and wife Carol; brother, William "Bill" Norris; sister, Naida Green and husband Tom; nine grandchildren and six gr-grandchildren. She is deeply loved and missed by her family.
