Megan Barroso 20, of Moorpark passed away as the result of a homicide July 5 2001.
Megan was born March 15 1981 in Camarillo and had been a resident of Ventura County all her life. She was a past member of Santa Rosette Cloggers and was a student at Moorpark College. Megan enjoyed listening to music and loved to eat ice cream. She was a loving daughter sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Megan is survived by her mother Suzan Barroso; father Arturo Barroso; brother Arturo Joe Barroso; half-brothers Max and Christian; half-sister Ana Barroso; grandfather Joe Davis Meade of Napa Calif.; grandmother Guadalupe Barroso of Oxnard; and many more friends and relatives.
A memorial service in celebration of Megan's life will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday Aug. 12 at Peace Lutheran Church 71 Loma Dr. Camarillo.
As a memorial to Megan's life trees will be planted at the California State University Channel Islands. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Megan's name to Salvation Army -- Ventura Chapter 155 S. Oak Ventura CA 93001 (805) 648-5032; or Search and Rescue c/o SAR Inc. of Ventura County P.O. Box 1640 Atascadero CA 93423 (for the purchase of bloodhounds); and Peace Lutheran Church at 71 Loma Dr. Camarillo CA 93010.
