Walter Allan, a 23-year resident of Harvey, died Saturday, Oct. 24, in Homewood. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, South Holland. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Allan was born June 19, 1926, in New Kensington, Pa. He worked for Dean's Milk Co.; was a member of the American Legion Riverdale Post and Ingalls Senior Life Club; and was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Helen (nee Hutchison); two daughters, Patricia Duggan of Tinley Park and Debbie Christensen of Hammond, Ind.; two sons, Robert of Hinsdale and Jim of Harvey; three sisters, Delores Bialas of Creighton, Pa., Betty Valla and Marion Allan, both of New Kensington; two brothers, David of Cedar Lake, Ind., and Robert of New Kensington; and two grandchildren.
