Linda Joan Pierson, 58, of Oswego passed away Tuesday evening at Copley Memorial Hospital in Aurora. She was born August 30, 1944 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Mary (Duffy) Dahl and the late Adolph Dahl. She grew up in the LaHarpe, IL community and attended Disco and Durham Grade Schools before graduating from LaHarpe Community High School. She earned her B.S. degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, and following her graduation, she began teaching in the East Aurora School District 13. She married Donald L. Pierson in 1969.
    She worked in various positions with that District and retired 33 years later in May 2001. In 1994, she received the 1993-94 Aurora Excellence Award, but was best known for the many years she served as M.C. for the District's annual awards banquet, and for her many contributions to the development of the learning center at Simmons Middle School where she taught. Mrs. Dahl was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aurora and had long-term interest in Sweet Adelines, Int. She was a member of the Valley Lights Sweet Adelines, and served in many capacities with that group. In more recent years, she developed an interest in golf.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Adolph Dahl; and her sister, Carol Serene Dahl.
    Funeral services will be Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 5 N. Root St., Aurora. Reverend Martha Nelson will officiate. Interment will be Sunday, December 14, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Moss Ridge Cemetery, Carthage, IL with Pastor Gregg Busboom officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, December 13, 2003 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Linda's name to the LaHarpe High School music program in LaHarpe, Illinois.
