DUMAS - (Special) - Funeral services for John Henry Murphy, retired Dumas farmer, were held at 10 a.m., today at the Dumas Cemetery. Reverend Ralph L. Sell officiated.

Murphy, 71-year-old, was found dead Saturday in his San Angelo home, where he lived alone. Members of the family said apparently he had been dead several days prior to the discovery of his body.

The deceased was born April 3, 1883, in Greenville and was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors are two sons, George and J.H., both of Dumas.

Funeral services for John Henry Murphy, about 72, are pending at Boxwell Bros. Funeral Home in Dumas.

Mr. Murphy was found about 5 p.m. Sunday at his home, 1515 Beacon St. Justice of the Peace O.L. Miller said he apparently had been dead since Tuesday evening. Miller returned a verdict of death by natural causes due to a heart attack.

A resident of San Angelo about 10 years, Mr. Murphy was a former night watchman.

Survivors include two sons, George Murphy and J.H. Murphy, both of Dumas, and one brother, Ben Murphy.

The body was taken to Dumas this morning by Johnson's Funeral Home.
