NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Marie M. "Rosebud" (Miranda) Branco, 66, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Waterbury Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Joseph O. Branco.

Mrs. Branco was born in Waterbury on June 14, 1945, a daughter of the late Joao and Laura (Barroqueiro) Miranda. She was a former employee of the Lewis Engineering Co. in Naugatuck and was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck. She was a truly loving mother and grandmother who lived for her grandchildren.

Mrs. Branco is survived by three daughters, Denise Costa and her husband, Joao, of Naugatuck, Julie Sampaio and her husband, George, of Naugatuck, and Paula Marinaro and her husband, Christopher, of Naugatuck; a sister, Laura daSilva and her husband, Manuel, of Southbury; and six grandchildren, Deana and Cristina Costa, Nina and Steven Marinaro, and Brandon and Derek Sampaio. She is also survived by her cousin and "Best Bud," Anna Antunes, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be held 8:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck, for a Mass at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m.
