Per 1850 and 1860 U.S. Censuses for W. Nottingham Township, Chester County, PA, Elizabeth was the much younger wife (by 32 years) of a farmer, a John Drennen (variously spelled as “Drennon” in 1850 Census, and as “Drenon” in 1860 Census). John and Elizabeth married on 25 January 1949. No grave/burial information yet found for her husband, John Drennen/(Drennon/Drenon) (b. ca. 1792), however, later records indicate that Elizabeth Drennen was recognized as the widow of a John Drennen, a military veteran, with his having served as a Private soldier in Hill’s Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia, in the War of 1812, and her having begun in 1878 to be paid a monthly widow’s pension. John Drennen was most likely in the vicinity of Oxford or Nottingham Township, Chester County, PA.

Same record indicates that John was first married (date unknown) to a Mary McCreery(sp).

Maintainer (Contributor 48280046) happily only discovered in late 2018 that this individual was a previously unknown maternal 3x great-grandmother, and with sincere thanks to Contributor 46906238 for his hard work in having created and maintained this memorial, as well as to Contributor 47022293 for having so kindly photographed her headstone.
