A combined funeral service will be held for Mary Ann (Bopp) Akes and Carl E. Akes at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Olinger Mortuary on Wadsworth Blvd. Akes will be buried in Crown Hill. His wife will be buried in Mt. Olivet. The couple died Friday at their home at 17111 W. 10th Ave. in Golden of asphyxiation. Akes was 65. His wife was 57. They were married in Denver in 1966. Akes was a retired truck driver who was born 16 May 1906 in St. Louis. Mrs. Akes was born 28 Oct 1914 in Loveland. Akes is survived by two sons, Clarence Akes of Morrison, and Ronald Akes of Northglenn; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Bonn and Dorothy Conrad of Oak Forest, IL, a sister Ida Beagle of Denver; two brothers, Charles Akes of Golden and Kenneth Akes; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Akes is survived by two sons, Ben J. Bopp and Leo J. Bopp, both of Denver; two
brothers, Peter Herman of Connecticut, and Leo Herman of New Mexico; her mother, Mrs. Kate McJunkin of Denver, and five grandchildren.
