Sandi Sartor, 61, went on to Glory, after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 3, 2011 while at University Medical Center, Jackson. Visitation is 4:00-8:00pm today at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 12:00pm Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Pearl with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

Sandi graduated from Pearl High School in 1969, and Belhaven College in 1973 with a major in music. She went on to work as a Systems Administrator over Title Network for the Mississippi State Tax Commission for many years, until dedicating her life fully to the work of the Gospel. She also served faithfully as Minister of Music for Lake Harbor Baptist Church in Brandon.

Music was Sandi's life blessing. She loved Jesus Christ, her family and friends, and sharing her talent with countless loved ones over the years. She sang at weddings, funerals, Christian functions, and for whomever had a need. Sandi had a "very special voice" and yet she maintained such a joyful and humble spirit throughout her life.

"Aunt Sandi" was everything to her many nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished as her very own children. Many placed their faith in Jesus Christ by observing "Aunt Sandi" live a dedicated Christian life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar W. Sartor, and sister, Carol Murray.

Survivors include her mother, Daisy Sartor of Pearl; sisters, Betty Langford (Benja) and Janice Baker (Boo) all of Brandon; brothers, Donnie Sartor (Candy) of Pearl and Tony Sartor (Kris) of Spring, TX; nieces and nephews, Susan Luckett (Mark) of Clinton, Tanya Hawthorne of Clinton, Jeff Murray of Shreveport, LA, Melissa Brown (Chad) of Brandon, Michele Langford of Brandon, Brian Baker of Ridgeland, Dustin Baker (Alice Bell) of Birmingham, AL, Liz Langford (Chris) of Pearl, Jacob and Carleigh Sartor both of Spring, TX; great-nieces and nephews, Kyle Geoghegan of Denver, CO, Brianna Hawthorne of Clinton, Simms, Charles and Vivian Baker all of Jackson, Maloy, Mary Myers and Chapel Baker all of Birmingham, AL and Alexis Langford of Pearl; and precious godchild, Joshua Daniel Morse of Jackson.

The family wishes to thank some very special people, who meant so much to Sandi and them, during these trying times: Revelations Quartet, Gospel Echoes, Polkville City Limit, Pearl Quartet, Heaven's Gate, and First Baptist Church of Pearl for hosting a benefit concert on behalf of Sandi. They also wish to thank the very special care providers of UMMC (SICU, 3 North staff and Odyssey Hospice).

To Bro. Rick Cox and the Lake Harbor Baptist Church family, words cannot express our love and thanks for all the countless acts of support and enduring love you have given and shown to the family during Sandi's illness.

Memorials may be made to Lake Harbor Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 339, Sandhill, MS 39161.
