WALKERTON-Natheta J. Berg, 78, of Walkerton, IN passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth after a sudden illness.
Natheta was born March 4, 1933 in Hamlet, IN to Wilfred and Margaret (Shankland) Ossler and lived all of her life in the area.
In 1956, at Hamlet, she was married to Robert Bent who preceded her in death in 1964. On October 10, 1966 in Hamlet, IN she was married to Wayne Berg, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Bonita (Doyle Blooding) Bent-Nelson of South Bend, Lora (Scott) Vieting of Hamlet and Jacquelyn (Thad) Rippy of Plymouth; one son, Paul (Brenda) Bent of Walkerton; ten grandchildren, Brandi Bennett, Ryan Egger, Casey Keiper Easterday, Justin Egger, Blake Bent, Brock Bent, Brooke Bent, Kylee Rippy, Keeton Rippy and Kalen Rippy; two great-grandchildren, Owen Easterday and Elleigh Bent; one brother, Gene (Barbara) Ossler of Raleigh, NC and one sister, Barbara (Frank) Abel of Hamlet.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Hamlet United Methodist Church and the Town and Country Home-Ec Club.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. (Central Time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Burial will be at the Fletcher Cemetery, Hamlet. Friends may call Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hamlet United Methodist Church.
