ARCHITECT RUSSELL, DIES
Hundreds Of City's Buildings Were By His Plans
Stanislaus Russell, well-known Baltimore architect for more than 50 years, died yesterday at his home at 3210 Howard Park avenue after a long illness. He was 82 years old.
Actively engaged in his profession until the onset on his final illness, Mr. Russell's last commission was as associate architect for Carlin's Drive-In Theater.
Hundreds of other residential, religious and commercial buildings were erected to his plans.
Lake Drive Apartments
Among them are many of the apartment buildings along Lake drive. Shaarei Tfiloh Synagogue, additions to the original Walbrook Methodist Church, the Taylor Manor Hospital in Ellicott City, St. Mary's Seminary in St. Mary's City and industrial buildings in South Baltimore.
Drexel Institute Graduate
He came to Baltimore shortly after graduation from Drexel Institute in 1903.
He was a member of the American Institute of Archects.
Mr. Russell is survived by his wife, the former Lily Morton; two sons by his first marriage to Harriet Triplett, who died in 1932. T. Triplett Russel land William A. Russell, both of Miami, Fla., and four grandchildren.
Also surviving are his two stepdaughters, Mrs. John L Stover of Washington, and Mrs Charles Eckman of Odenton, Maryland.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday at All Saints' Church, in the 4400 block of Liberty Heights avenue. Burial will be in the Druid Ridge Cemetery.
