Alfred Attwood son of Arthur John Attwood husband of Lucy Attwood nee Green.
Alfred was a former coal miner in the Rotherham mining industry.
He was the farther of eleven children and later moved to Halifax so his daughters could gain employment in the cotton mills industry.The move was also to help his failing health. As his daughters and family married and moved away he moved back to Rotherham, where he lived out the rest of his life as a retired miner. He gained a hobby to keep him occupied, Arthur was good with his hands and mended clocks and watches and mechanical items. He lived out his retirement with his wife in a bungalow in East Herringthorpe until his wife Lucy became ill and later died of cancer. Arthur died a few months later, his family would like to think of a broken heart as well as his ill health. He now is at peace with his beloved wife together in death as they were inseperable in life. He left behind eight daughters and two sons, and a large number of grand children as well as great grand children, and is sadly missed by all.
