Albert H. Scherzer, 76, received his crown of life July 2, 2007. He was born December 14, 1930 in Saginaw, son of the late Frederick and Lydia (Haubenstricker) Scherzer, graduated from Michigan Lutheran Seminary in 1948 and attended Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. On February 3, 1952 he married the former Pauline Bierlein. She survives him. Albert was employed by Weber Lumber for many years and eventually became manager of Weber Steel. He was a member of the St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville and the Gideons International. Surviving besides his wife Pauline are his two daughters and two sons and their spouses; Lynn and John Kreutzer of Hampshire, IL, Valerie and Reverend Gary Beck of Flint, James and Louann Scherzer of Frankenmuth, and John Scherzer of Cass City, Seven grandchildren; Christopher and Jessica Kreutzer, Melanie, David and Leah Beck and Kenton and Zachary Scherzer, and his sisters-in-law; Betty Scherzer, Irene Bierlein, and Edna Kern. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Robert Scherzer, and his dear aunt, Agnes Weber.

~SERVICES~
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 from the St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville. Rev. Rob Gadeken and Rev. Wesley Gillaspie will both officiate with burial to follow in the St. Michael's Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be presented by the U.S. Army.


~VISITATION~
Albert's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. Reese on Thursday from 5-8 p.m., Friday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
