Vanetta Robinson was born in Gaylord on Dec. 3, 1936, the daughter of James Robinson and Idabelle (Sweeso) Robinson. She attended Vanderbilt Elementary and High School and worked at the Gaylord Big Boy for more than 10 years, when it was located downtown on Main Street. She then worked for Van Products in Vanderbilt from 1972 until 1998.
She enjoyed going to garage sales, working on crossword puzzles and visiting with her family and friends.
Vanetta Brown was survived by her children, Duane (Ann Marie) Robinson of Vanderbilt, Rick (Jennifer) Brown of Houghton Lake, Tonya (Brian) Korona of Vanderbilt, Allen (Nancy) Brown of Vanderbilt; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Delores (Richard) Smolarz and Linetta (Rolland) Goff both of Vanderbilt and Norma Misner of East Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Floyd Robinson, Francis Robinson and Merle Robinson; and sisters, Thelma Moore, Clara Hackworth, Dorothy Higley, Betty Smith and Alice Moore.
