WALTERBORO: Anna Lou Carrington Marvin, wife of the late Robert E. Marvin, died Saturday at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. She was 91.

Mrs. Marvin was born in Winder, GA September 20, 1920 a daughter of the late John W. Carrington and Mae Kelly Carrington. She was a 1941 graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon, GA and was a loving wife for over 53 years to her late husband. She was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a devoted citizen of Walterboro and Colleton County. Throughout her adult life she devoted her energy to the improvement of her community and will be remembered as a friend to all.

She is survived by her daughter Alta Mae Marvin, and by five grandchildren: William S. Marvin (Mandy), Wade B. Marvin (Meagan), John I. Henderson, Caroline H. Rice (Daniel) and Wesley E. Henderson. There are four great-grandsons, a sister-in-law Sara T. Pope, and a former daughter-in-law Sherry Marvin Hughes, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Earle R. Marvin.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 PM in the Bethel United Methodist Church with burial following in the Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5-7 PM at her home, 622 Hampton Street in Walterboro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, P.O.B. 147, The Artisan's Center, 334 Wichman Street, or the Colleton County Museum, 506 East Washington Street, all in Walterboro, SC 29488.
