Reuben C. Corson, 79, of Pleasant Plains died at 3:35 p.m. Monday at St. John's Hospital Hospice Unit. He was born Feb. 1, 1908, at Pleasant Plains, the son of Nathan and Essie Correll Corson. He married Lois Ewing in 1936 and she died in 1972. Mr. Corson was a member of the Peter Cartwright United Methodist Church and a former member of Producers Dairy board of directors. He also was formerly active with the Sangamon County 4-H Clubs. Surviving are one son, John of Macomb; two daughters, Connie Benson of Mahomet and Barbara Ruddick of West Point, Ga.; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Peter Cartwright United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tim Carlson and the Rev. James Thompson officiating. Burial will be Bethel Cemetery. Hensley-Davis Funeral Home, Pleasant Plains, is in charge of arrangements.
