Mr. Nicholson was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Nokesville, son of Mamie Blanche Woodward Nicholson and Benjamin Robert Nicholson.
He retired from Trailways in Washington, D.C., after 42 years, nine months and 10 days as a mechanic and driver. For many years, he transported passengers from Catlett to Washington, D.C.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Edna H. Nicholson, in May 2001.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Anna Burnett of Manassas and Penny N. Houston of Nokesville; two sons, Robert Andrew Nicholson of Reston and Thomas Earl Nicholson of Partlow; and four grandchildren.
A sister, Della K. Embrey of Catlett, also survives.
Funeral services were held Aug. 23 at Moser Funeral Home, with burial at Oak Dale Baptist Church Cemetery, Nokesville.
