Ruth (Flood) Joy, 92, breathed her last breath at 4 a.m. Monday morning November 28, 2011.

She went to be with her Lord, husband, Richard and beloved sister, Eva in heaven.

Ruth moved to Southern California at the age of four.

During the War years, She served as the first female bus driver in the city of Long Beach, something she was very proud of.

Ruth moved to the Five Cities area in 1978 and lived there until her death.

She enjoyed her life at Grandmother's Park in Arroyo Grande, where she served as a trustee and was a volunteer at the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital for over 20 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women in the Esther Circle.

Mrs. Joy is survived by her daughter, Virginia Mothes; grandchildren, Gerald (Nadine) and Michelle; and great-grandson, Conner.
