Clyde Leon Hopkins, Sr., 77, of 3585 Port Arthur Road, Beaumont, died Sunday at 7:10 p.m. in Baptist hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Kelley-Hixson Funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tracy Bledsoe, pastor of Lamar Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia cemetery with graveside rites to be conducted by Beaumont Masonic lodge No. 286 of which Mr. Hopkins was a member. Mr. Hopkins, a native of Pennington Gap, Va., had been a resident of Beaumont 55 years and was a retired drug salesman formerly was employed by Parke-Davis company. He was a member of the United Methodist church. Survivorrs are his wife, Mrs. Maude Hopkins; and one son, Clyde L. Hopkins, Jr., of Beaumont; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Clark of Silsbee and Mrs. J.W. Jones of Beaumont.
