Blaine A. Varner, 81, of Harrisburg, died Tuesday, November 6, 2001, at Harrisburg Hospital. Born August 6, 1920 in Fermanagh Twp., Juniata Co., PA., he was the son of Edward and Jennie (Sheary) Varner. He was the widower of Ruth (Page) Varner. He is survived by a son Art Varner of Mt. Pleasant Mills; a daughter, Betty J Hoffman of Harrisburg; two sisters Esther Walters of Mifflintown and Alma Stuck of Thompsontown; two brothers Roy Varner of Oakland Mills and Harold Varner of Arkansas ; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Services were held Monday November 12, from the David M Myers Funeral home in Newport, Burial was in the Newport Cemetery, where full military honors were given by the New Bloomfield VFW.
