He was born February 2, 1954, in Ottumwa to William Lee and Fern Elizabeth Blood Barker. He married Judy Morris on July 7, 1996. A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked at Rockwell in Fairfield, most recently as a security guard. He enjoyed playing in pool leagues and doing charity work for the VFW.
Surviving is his wife; two sons, william Kevin and his wife Ashton Barker of Davenport and Ken Barker of Iowa City; a daughter, Lorie Coe of Des Moines; six grandchildren, Cassidy, Kaitlynne and Killian Barker, Amanda McCaullough, Sarah Gavigan and Randy VanTassel, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Roberts, Lawrence Gavigan IV and Lorali Hinds; two brothers, Steven Joseph Barker and Daniel Clinton Barker, both of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, William and Lee Brian Barker.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday at Reece Funeral Home; with Rev. Dan Reid officiating. His body will be cremated following services. Visitation will begin at 10 am Friday at the funeral home with the family present from 6-8 pm Friday. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
