George Baker was born in Germany, Oct. 30, 1817. He moved with his parents, at the age of 10, to the United States and settled at Lockhaven, Clinton Co., Pa. Later he moved to Cookport, Green Township, Indiana County, Pa and settled on the Peter Leasure farm.

Elizabeth Cook was born Jan. 7, 1825. She lived with her parents in Bedford County, Pa and moved with them to Cookport, Pa.

George and Elizabeth were united in marriage in Cookport, and located on an adjorning farm of his father where they lived until their deaths.
