Edna had two sisters: Martha Frances Henry (Sides) and Gracie L. Henry (Armstrong). She also had a sibling, whose name is unknown, that died shortly after birth.
Edna was a career housewife and mother. She married John Cornell "JC" Gary in about 1943. Together, they had three daughters: Elizabeth Dianne Gary (Shaw), Carolyn Genette "Carol" Gary (Harvey), and Barbara Jean Gary (Nance). Their marriage ended when the girls were very young, in about 1947; the exact date is unknown.
On November 17, 1955, Edna was married to Earnest Howard "Fergie" Ferguson. This union produced no children, but Howard raised Edna's daughters as his own.
Edna lived in Mesa, Arizona, where the majority of her family lived, for a good part of her adult life. About a year before her passing, she moved to Indiana to live with her daughter, Carol. She died from a hip fracture on May 17, 2005 during a hospital stay in Rushville, Indiana. She was cremated; the location of her ashes is currently unknown. (There is a dual headstone for her and Earnest in City of Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona. He is buried there but she is not.)
