James B. Ankenbruck, 78 years, of Bryan, passed away at 6:05 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011 at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier where he had been a resident. Jim was born April 16, 1933 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Lawrence and Sadie Elizabeth (Hainz) Ankenbruck. Jim was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married Doris J. Burd on September 28, 1960 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on August 21, 2005. Jim was employed by Ohio Art for 35 years, retiring as Director of Engineering. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan. Jim was an avid golfer. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris and only sister, Norrie, Jim is survived by several close friends and associates, including Amberleigh Faulhaber of Montpelier, Ohio. Funeral services for James B. Ankenbruck will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan with Father Jim Halleron officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery, Bryan. Visitation for Jim will be held Monday, November 28, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, where Scripture Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.
